AKWF Annual Day of Martial Arts April 2008
An email recently received from the AKWF NSW rep:
Dear John,
On behalf of the NSW committee I would like to invite you to participate in the NSW Annual Day of Chinese Martial Arts where the State Open competition will also take place. It is planned for the 26 of April at the Central Coast Youth Club, Niagara Park. For your convenience I have attached the info, regulations and the application form. I would particularly encourage you to send your younger athletes as there will be opportunity later in the year to be selected in the Australian National Junior Team (the World Championships for juniors will be in December this year in Bali). We will be working on funding of the team. Please do not hesitate and write to me if you have any questions about this day. There are going to be demonstrations and talks from masters (including from mainland China) and lots more. You can participate as a competitor or promoter of your club by demonstrating or just as a spectator. For your support of this event we would also like to offer you a $10 rebate per paying competitor from your club for 10 or more participants (if you have 10 competitors your school will receive $100 back and so on).
In the morning of 26th of April we will be holding a Judges and Officials seminar which will run for approximately 2 hrs starting at 8.30 at the same venue. This seminar will cost $45 which will include the AKWF Judge or Official shirt and certificate of attendance that is a prerequisite to the full judging accreditation in Chinese Martial Arts. We encourage the schools to send in their representatives for this event. The seminar must be pre-booked one week in advance; for bookings please notify the organising committee (the form is attached).
We will also organize a 2 days Sanshou seminar (with conditions for certification) – the date (late May-beginning of June) in Sydney (venue tba) - for anyone interested (judges, officials, trainers and competitors). As soon as we book the venue the info will be available on the website. To secure the place in the programme, please fill in the form I have enclosed with this letter and send your application together with your deposit of $50.00 to me before 18 of April. The more participants we have the less each will pay as we will have to cover the cost of the venue and the sessions. It will give you the opportunity of national recognition.
I hope to see you on the day.
