What We Would Like to Do?

We would like to:

  • broaden our membership base.
  • promote positive Tai Chi activities such as workshops, competitions, talks and demonstrations.
  • assist potential students to find instructors by providing locality guide for instructors and schools as well as facilitate friendly interchange between schools.
  • obtain refunds from Health Funds for tuition fees.
  • promote communication between Tai Chi practitioners, schools and the community.
  • set up a fair accreditation system for teaching. This would aim at methods of teaching and exercise safety aspects - not focusing on any style or school.
  • We believe that there are many people who will gain from practising Tai Chi. We can to provide useful information about Tai Chi and ourselves to the public.

If we work together everyone will gain.

What Have We Achieved?

Regular newsletters

To make our newsletter useful, we need more contributions and ideas. We would also like instructor members to order copies of newsletter for your students. The association will produce the copies and charge at cost. Please remember that the cost price of bulk printing is much cheaper than photocopying the newsletter yourself.

We have talked to health funds and are going to lobby for refunds of students’ tuition fees.

The Association Supports :-

The Peaceful Challenge, a competition in Sydney held by Joan and Henry Murray

The Tai Chi Festival in the Domain organised by Alex Galvan

The Tai Chi Workshop by Dr Paul Lam.

We are going to support the record attempt for most people practicing Tai Chi in Australia at the same time. An initiative by the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria to coincide with the Arthritis Week next year.

The International Olympic Committee is considering a proposal that WuShu / Tai Chi become an Olympic Games Sport to commence with the Beijing 2008 Games. We can help to support our future champions.......

INVITATION

We invite all Tai Chi practitioners to join this association, because we believe together we can do more for Tai Chi and ourselves. It is nice to have a space to share, exchange and network with fellow enthusiasts.

To ensure that our directions are kept for the future,
we have written them onto our constitution as a legal document.
