TCAA OPEN TAI CHI COMPETITION 2006

The recent TCAA Open Tai Chi Competition 2006 held on the Gold Coast was another great success. The venue was a little small, but it was a great feeling in the hall. It is always wonderful to see all the competitors in their silks, it brings the competition alive.

This year saw a few new comers to competition and I hope you all enjoyed your experience. To those of you that are regulars, it is always great to catch up and see your progress from year to year.

The competition commenced around 9.15am after the usual welcome and meetings with judges and competitors. I must congratulate everyone who was involved, judges, officials and competitors plus the ladies who helped out in the canteen and at the front desk. The venue was filled with a wonderful energy as everyone went about their business in a very professional way. The competition ended at 5.30pm after the presentation of medals and trophies and masters demonstrations.

To the judges and officials who travelled from interstate, I thank you for your assistance and look forward to the next competition. To the competitors I urge you to keep up your training and look forward to the next TCAA Competition in 2007. Some of you had travelled from as far away as Darwin, Victoria and South Australia. I trust you enjoyed not only the competition but also the chance to catch up with fellow competitors and the fabulous Gold Coast weather. I look forward to the time when we have competitors from Western Australia.

The results from the competition are in the Newsletter and also are on the TCAA website for anyone interested in their results.
